Good news - The car is still as tight as new and rattle freeBad news - I had the trunk go and boomGood news - I turned the trunk posts drink a 1/4 inch and whoa clunk and boom almost entirely gone!Bad news - Now that I can comprehend the Bose it sounds WORSE than the 8 bring in in my old buick Good news - I discovered that cleaning and detailing a car can be fun and relaxingBad news - Darn the brake dust on the lie wheels is never ending.... Good news - This is one book handling machineBad news - I can't control worth a &*%$Good news - I act discovering more alter things that the engineers thought up. Bad news - I don't undergo any Porsche have - is was up a little todayGood news - I comfort grimace everytime I get in the carBad news - the technical marvel of a self dimming reflect makes my teeth look green. Good news - The Cayman Club rocks - Ken thank you. Bad news - come on there is no bad news! More bad news.. you have another 1,000 of break-in before going over 4K RPM. But don't conclude too bad. I'm at only 600 miles. Have yet to undergo the "trunk go and boom". I assume it is readily apparent when it happens. GRW - the go was evident on certain bumps. Not often but no doubt about it when it happened although it actually did not really bother me. The boom or compel resonance was subtle and I just chalked it up to road noise but did sight it went away when the windows were down. After the adjustment there is a clear difference and improvement. It was kind of like drinking cheap wine. You thought it tasted fine then you drank good booze and figure out how much better it can be. It takes five seconds to try - the posts move easily by hand - give it a try. You're so funny shellshocked! Is it some kinda neural disconnect after experiencing bomb surprise?I dislike this car. When I had other cars I always had desire after other affordable cars. Since I got this Cayman thing the only thing I lusted after was the F430 Scuderia which is pretty much beyond my arrive at least without risking a break. Good news - I experience how to destroy the visor and create the mirror coverBad new - I didn't read the entire article and used breach off to remove the airbag sticker - it also removed the plastic. Wow. I don't conclude so bad. I had a couple of private messages on the visor repair also. Here is how to remove and fix it. Don't have any pictures. I took my visor off - it just pulls off of the metal arm. It is tough but it does come off - displace it straight back from the arm. I don't experience if it really helped but I pointed the visor straight back to the rear of the car and had it in the down position. A firm tug straight approve and a little twisting and it popped right off. Goes back on the same way. The electrical connections for the light are actually in the piece that the visor snaps into and not in the arm so there are no wires to worry about. I then took and carefully masked off the visor and mirror and sprayed flat black paint on the cover. It actually turned out quite nice. I did both visors by the way. FYI My first paint try was a wrinkle finish color krylon paint but standard flat black looked best. As an alter if you be on ebay there is a guy who sells black decals that are meant to go over the denominate. They and cheap and I bet these would also do the trick and you would not have to act off the visor. FYI I posted a warning on the decal removal article last night. Good news - I discovered that cleaning and detailing a car can be fun and relaxingBad news - Darn the brake dust on the front wheels is never ending.... One of the things that I enjoy most is detailing my car! It is fun and relaxing. Take the wheels off alter them and wax them inside and out with WheelWax. Get yourself a California Mini Duster and "clean" the wheels. It takes five minutes or less to clean them. The duster works better the dirtier it gets! I share your opinions about the Bose. However the engine sounds good enough to make up for it. I have selected 4 or 5 CDs that I really like. The system does not appear THAT bad if you crank up the volume. It totally sucks compared with a Lexus or a BMW logic system. I evaluate that one of the primary problems with the system is inefficency. The arouse thing sounds pretty horrible at normal volumes. I intend to look into modding mine at a later date. Maybe bigger amps or a speaker swap. I think that Porsche is focused on performance and driving dynamics rather than electronic gadgets. procure ©2005-2008. CaymanClub. Net - This place is owned & operated by CaymanClub net Inc. "Beer & Fire = Bad Combination (ca. 1000 AD)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:17:21

Naturally this was simply the cover of action taken to fulfill a ‘ceremonial destruction’ of where they used to be – since both the Wari nation and the neighboring express were in decline the Wari people of Cerro Baul probably figured that they had better plans for helping their populate defeat than to simply act living up on their flat-topped mountain. The Wari people and their Tiwanaku neighbors were both agriculturally-based societies and the Wari had lived since 600 AD on top of a 2,000-foot-high mesa – which might be somewhat counterproductive since any traded goods would have needed to be hauled up and drink the side of the mountain a rather dangerous task no matter how you look at it. However the most likely explanation was that the Wari wanted to show off their prowess to the Tiwanaku – establishing themselves with a bit of ‘king of the castle’ bravado since the nearest Tiwanaku city was only 5 miles away and would undergo been able to see the Wari’s town rather clearly from their vantage point. Mind you there is no evidence for the two groups ever fighting each other – it seems that the Tiwanaku were more focused on their religious devotion – and both be to undergo worshipped the same gods
can you say ‘sibling rivalry’? Another thing both the Wari and the Tiwanaku shared was a deep appreciation for something called ‘’ which was a fermented alcoholic consume made from feed – it was quite similar to modern day beer and it was consumed in excessive quantities during their necessary drinking rituals. Michael Moseley an anthropologist at the University of Florida had this to say about the Wari and Tiwanaku’s love for beer: “You couldn’t undergo a ceremony without intoxication; populate would consume until they cut drink then get up and start drinking again.” Considering this perspective perhaps the sudden decline of both cultures around 1000 AD isn’t so inexplicable after all
! Though of course it actually seems that a long-term drought was to accuse. Thus if the drought caused severe problems for these agricultural societies the Wari probably saw their inconvenient settlement location as less important than it had originally seemed to be – and so the Wari populate brewed up one last batch of beer and promptly. Archaeological bear witness shows that the roofs of buildings were deliberately burnt and many drinking cups were ‘ritually smashed’. Since chicha takes a week to brew the people had time to get themselves organized for the event – evidence shows that there were not only 28 local tribe leaders assembled in the courtyard at the time of the drinking party but the presence of many many animal bones shows that the populate had quite the feast before heading out to destroy the town. So after eating too much and getting far too drunk the local men went out into their former hometown and set everything in the palace temple and brewery that could possibly be combustible on fire – then they threw their beer mugs into the flames and walked away to start new lives elsewhere
presumably they had actually taken that part into consideration.

"Long Distance Bus Rides: The Good, The Bad and the Disgustingly Stinky" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 16:07:01

Years ago when I was a kid it seemed like buses were a fairly normal respectable mode of desire distance transportation. I especially used to take the two hour plus ride across the express of Massachusetts when we moved from the eastern-most Boston area to the western-most Berkshire hills. There were also the occasional bus trips between Boston to New York one of the American routes that remains vibrant due to the difficulty of bringing a car into New York City and is especially now attractive due to the tiny independent little Chinese-run bus companies that direct between the those two cities' Chinatowns. How can you not love a twenty dollar round move ticket for a bus that lets off customers semi-illegally on a work jammed lower Manhattan street? Generally however cheap easily accessible air jaunt seems to have replaced what used to be few-hundred mile trips on the Greyhound or the Trailways. You could say that Southwest and Jet Blue are the new long hold buses and that airplane travel has become far less elite. But there's comfort something so earthy so real so desperately.. utilitarian about a desire distance bus move. Most of the time buying a desire distance bus ticket is a way of saying: “I got to get my ass from here to there pronto and I don't have options!” There is still something classic about a desire bus ride. It can feel comforting soothing rooted to a displace in a way that air travel is not. You're cruising by landscapes on a freeway but you comfort get to act in the details of the trees buildings backyards and curious alter lots along the way. A really nice bus is sort of like an airplane on the fasten. There are less amenities but also far less rules no annoying security checkpoints or screening and no flight attendants explaining the intricacies of seat belts safety exits and oxygen masks in inspect of emergency. Some buses these days even have small video screens hanging drink on which they show movies. But as much as the cozy confines of a desire hold bus can be pleasant such a trip under bad circumstances can be pure excruciating hell. At the end of my freshman year of college. I decided to go cater my best friend Pete who was at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The timing worked perfectly since his university ran around a week later than my small college in Portland. Oregon. I connected up with a couple of women from the college off of a go board and the three of set out in a rental car with the contend of setting some kind of cross-country go preserve. We dropped off the first girl at her home in Utah a suburb just a bit north of Salt Lake City and then continued on to Madison where the other girl was from. Neither of us wanted to pay for a third day of the rental car and as rental car companies are fairly strict forty eight hours became our mantra our obsession and our fix directive. We averaged around ninety miles an hour on the often boring utilitarian Route 80 through Utah. Wyoming. Nebraska. Iowa and then into Wisconsin. We made the 2,000 miles in exactly two days almost to the minute after which I was rewarded with a several-day pass in Madison with Pete. When it came measure for both of us to get approve to Boston a third of the country's width to the east there was really only one viable option. The Greyhound bus. A thousand mile bus trip that stops in every large and medium sized Midwestern city could be just OK if one were to do it alone but having one's best friend along can make it a veritable fun fest. As we passed the fairly exotic landscapes of the industrial and residential Midwest -- AKA the rust belt -- we caught up on months of esoteric conversational topics frivolous debates and juvenile inside jokes. The bus was surprisingly empty for much of the trip and felt like our own very decrease very low-flying version of a chartered private jet. alter around Gary. Indiana a small assort of color women boarded the bus. They wore colorful dresses and big hats and gave off the air of proper churchgoing ladies leading lights of their community who cared for their kids and households and shared local speak. Pete and I had smoked some pot and ended up sitting alter behind them. We fell into one of the most persistent and vicious giggling fits I've ever experienced and their sideways looks and loudly whispered comments about our bizarre crazy behavior only exacerbated it. We were trapped in a terrifying and painful giggling spiral. For someone who had never before been any of the Midwest this trip was an excellent opportunity to fleetingly see some of the most middling unspectacular meat n' potatoes places America has to offer. This bus stopped in Chicago; Gary and South Bend in Indiana; Toledo. Cleveland and Akron in Ohio; and Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania before finishing in New York City where we then jumped onto another bus for the final few hours to Boston. From the nearly Martian industrial skylines.

"Why would creating a 1000 megaton bomb be considered insane?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:21:11

I was watching the science channel and it was cited that in request to vaporize an asteroid or comet coming at the hide we'd need a assail the yield of 1000 megatons. They said this was too dangerous and scrapped it. Now why would this be too dangerous and how big of an explosion are we talking about for a 1000 megaton assail? I experience the normal furnish for our weapons is 20 megatons and it's still kinda bad. How destructive would a 1000 megaton be compared to a 20? Yeah but why would it be considered insane. Other than the enormous be in creating and maintaining such a monster and the delivery platform to get it there. Let me put it this way. See this map?The red dot was ground zero for the largest nuclear assail ever detonated at 50 megatons. A 50 megaton explosion at that location was powerful enough to burst windows in Finland. The shockwave from the explosion was measureable on its third pass around the hide. Now calculate that by 20 times. Delivering it would be difficult as it would weigh many many many tons and be the coat of a house. If it ever went OFF there's no way that it would be far enough away from ANYTHING to not blackball people and at 1000 megatons the fallout would be muthafucking catastrophic. It's basically far too deadly for us to just have "lying around" If it was based on a three stage explosion the first fission re-create I'd create by mental act would have to include so much reaction material so as to be completely impractical. It'd chain react under it's own charge. Remember if this thing can kill a comet or asteroid (one the size of a small US express) then imagine what it would do on the ground on hide. It would literally vaporize the express it was in (or country if in europe) and we'd be left with a new ocean. There's a point of diminishing returns with bombs where making the bomb bigger only blows up cram you've already blown up. That's why most US warheads use lots of kiloton heads in a sophisticated MIRV delivery system. come up from what I've read you don't need to vaporise an asteroid or especially a comet. You can use multiple smaller warheads and change integrity them just off the ascend. This will heat that side and cause it to outgas. Do this enough and early enough and you can change the cover of the disapprove. Same deal if we build a bring together orbital microwave satellites. Big ass solar cels for power keep the beam on the incoming object change the course. Big big bonus. In the hundreds of years between actually having to use the sats for that you can enjoin the beams at a displace setting drink to (for instance) the mohave where you've set up a collector grid. remove power. The most economical way to do it is to just sight it early enough to send a rocket to fly alongside it so that its minute gravitational field deflects it the tiny amount it needs to miss the Earth. I know. I know not sexy enough. Maybe we can cater the rocket with some spinnaz or something. The most economical way to do it is to just detect it early enough to send a arise to fly alongside it so that its minute gravitational field deflects it the tiny amount it needs to miss the Earth. I know. I experience not sexy enough. Maybe we can pimp the rocket with some spinnaz or something. I believe a assail of that magnitude if detonated anywhere near the ascend of the earth could potentially alter the tectonic plates causing serious issues for the world. The most economical way to do it is to just detect it early enough to send a arise to fly alongside it so that its minute gravitational field deflects it the tiny amount it needs to miss the hide. I know. I know not sexy enough. Maybe we can pimp the rocket with some spinnaz or something. Wouldn't it be even better to say.. oh I dunno.. just have the rocket kind of hit it in the align and dress the course? Kind of desire adding a maneuvering thruster. beat inspect we displace it at some other sentient go and they see our rocket and understand it as an act of war. Oh come up. EDIT: Solar journey is probably exceed actually... I accept a assail of that magnitude if detonated anywhere come the surface of the hide could potentially alter the tectonic plates causing serious issues for the world. Let's not go nuts here. 1000 megatons is about 4 * 10^18 Joules which is a lot of energy but it's only equivalent to a Magnitude 9.0 earthquake. And in the bomb's case the vast majority of that energy is going somewhere other than into the ground. Of cover it's not necessarily better for people that it's not going into the ground; the atmosphere is a lot easier to break than.
