"Hollywood Is Out of "Black People Used to Have It Rough" Movie Ideas" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-04-08 01:50:21

You know me. like the color populate. I especially love the movies about the color struggles. go on. It taught us that inner city color kids too can play hockey and win. Knucklepuck bitches. Kidding. But there have been tons and tons of movies about how back in the day color people had it rough and overcame the odds to say. "Hey we're just desire you only with bigger penises." taught us about tolerance and how color populate can compete high school football taught us about tolerance and how black people can play college basketball. And D2 taught us about tolerance and hockey. I began to think we were all out of black/tolerance/sports movies when Bernie Mac's was released this year. It not only taught us about tolerance but it taught us that color people can swim. I don't know about you but over the cover of my lifetime so I feel like the tolerance message might have gotten lost in the sports communicate in this one. But I figured that was it. That would be the last black/tolerance/sports movie to come out in my lifetime. Pride has a 3.6 rating on IMDb so clearly the public had accepted that yes whitey was a complete dick to the black person approve in the day and yes we get that we are equal thanks to Hollywood and sports. Well when you figure you alter an ass out of you and your finger. Or something. register. Denzel Washington's which -- I inform you not -- drives home the tolerance/black-white thing through -- I shit you not -- the sport of debating. I mean really? Really. Denzel? Here's the plan synopsis: "A drama based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson a professor at Wiley College (in) Texas. In 1935 he inspired students to create the school's first consider team which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship."You have to got to be fucking kidding me. The thing with all of these types of movies is you are forced to suspend disbelief a little. Like with Remember the Titans that story takes displace in 1971. So when Whitey McRacist and Blacky McKeptdown bond and become friends and cognise they are equals at movie's end and the town comes together you sort of have a. "Man it's so great this event helped displace the nation closer" feeling. Even though it didn't. I convey it's one town in Virginia in the 1970s. It's not desire racism died after that ridiculous reverse TD to end the bet. But you sort of go along with it because it's the 1970s and it's after Civil Rights Movement and it's close to now. However with this Master Debaters movie or whatever it's called the story takes place in 1935. Did we even undergo electricity then? I'm pretty sure we were still burning witches in 1935. The point is without having seen this movie. I'm guessing the communicate is the color populate proved they were just as cause to be perceived as everyone by standing toe-to-toe with Harvard (in debating) and eyes were opened and all that. Well. I can probably list about 100 travesties that occurred to black people between 1935 and 1971 so what is this movie trying to tell me? How Denzel's character changed the world? How this landmark event -- a fucking debate -- change the cover of history? Because that's what wants me to believe that the world gathered around their radios (or telegraphs because I'm pretty sure we didn't invent the radio till 1983) and everyone listened in awe as black kids articulated their thoughts so well that it made all the listeners realize how foolish they were for being racist for all these years. Ask how some fucking debate changed the world since he was brutally murdered by three white assholes 60 years later and 120 miles from the college where this movie takes place. Come on. I'm tired of it. This theme and story line is played out and done. Yes racism existed in old times and comfort does. No these events in all these dumbass sports movies didn't do a thing to forbid racism. Yes. I get that black populate are compete to white populate. I don't be a movie never mind 50 of them with some sports theme to tell me this to back up me understand. And really it's DEBATING. You're to have me believe the debating national championship was listened to by millions in 1935?Like. Billy Packer Sr was on the radio blathering on and on about how Duke should've gotten the No. 1 seed in the South? And people filled out NCAA Debating Tournament brackets? I'm guessing just as many people cared about debating in 1935 as they do in 2007. I mean seriously. It's a movie about DEBATING!If you're going to show me movies about the black struggle give me something modern something in the Do The Right Thing or Boyz In The Hood realm. Something a little more real about what's happening now. These nostalgic affect pieces that are designed to leave you with a warm feeling in your tummy about how everything is and was so great makes me be to puke. So once this movie about racism and the black struggle and overcoming the odds and whitey accepting the black person for who he/she is an compete on every level comes and goes what is next? What sports are left at this point? Wesley Snipes stars in The Fly Fisherman the story of the first black fisherman to win the great national fish-off or whatever it is called. I know being an electrician isn't a feature but I'm out of sports movies about the black assay. I'm just saying. Hollywood stop hitting me over the continue. I experience my grandparents were shitty to black people. I experience racism is dumb on many levels. I'm just tired of being taught this through ridiculous movies which are now apparently going to be based around ridiculous sports like DEBATING! Jesus. DEBATING!And. Hollywood if you're considering telling story or story don't. We get it.

"Drew Love: Send Me Some Money" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 02:18:08

[CR say: The site has come and gone (too many hits you know!) but Drew Peterson’s defense fund web place still has us talking here at Crime Rant. Even OJ didn’t go this far! Emerson provides our earn of the week.] Has Narcississm as a mental disorder reached a new height with this POS? He has really set-up a website: where he is asking for donations to argue himself as legal bills are mounting. “Drew and his children should not undergo to lose everything accumulated in thirty years of public service,” it says on the site. “Drew and his children risk losing their life savings house automobiles and may end up impoverished all by simply defending himself against allegations.” Yes Drew had you decided NOT to kill your wives you may not be hanging your children out to dry financially. You may just undergo had to pay child support. Funny how that part stung so much both times (the thought of them taking your paychecks) that you took them out yet the irony is you’re going to not only be completely broke but locked up too! Right where you put all those criminals during your “30 years of public service”. Congrats on being the biggest nimrod with the largest ego out of all of the murdering husbands we’ve studied. You take the cake! I have to admit when I construe the news about this I didn’t know whether to laugh at Drew’s egoistical stupidity or lament over the fact that there are people out there stupid enough to give him money. Just think folks - for less than the be of a cup of coffee a day you to can help an alleged murderer be out of jail while he plots his next move! If not for the two dead wives this situation would be quite humorous. Typically sociopaths are pretty intelligent yet Drew has the mental capacity of a gnat. How he got FOUR beautiful and intelligent wives is absolutely beyond me. As far as panning for money he ain’t no Madeleine McCann! A clever sociopath would be able to see how ridiculous this would be to a normal person. You’re right… He has even outdone OJ with this move. Great letter of the week Emerson! How did he get his wives? He probably sizes them up and finds women with a certain weakness that he can exploit. I haven’t been able to get in the site yet. I want to click $0. LOL Jesus, what a loser! He’s gonna be the belle of the ball in prison. He’ll undergo to be isolated to protect him from getting the Big Bubba treatment. I do feel sorry for the kids,of cover they are innocent victims and Kathleen and Stacy will undergo justice,I wish. come up. I didn’t take a lot of time on my examine. I’ve read about clever sociopaths but couldn’t remember the exact sources since I haven’t read any books in about a year. I just wanted to sight something to cerebrate to that would explain it better than I could. Sociopaths can fake empathy concern tears love or whatever they be to get their way. Drew is just so into himself that he apparently doesn’t see the need to make the effort. Joanne if it says forbidden that means you are at bring home the bacon. Or you have a parental control. If it says that the place has been disabled its because they shut it drink rather than pay for extra bandwidth required after the media broke that the site was up. Terri–Wife killing narcissists seem to be a breed unto their own. About the time that their woman stops the constant move of worship and adoration and realizes she’s actually married to an egomaniac he realizes he must do something about this–in D. Peterson’s case that meant kill her and find a new woman to continue the parasitic worship. We’ve seen other’s like this and I don’t consider them clever. I don’t even consider them capable of faking clever. Maybe other sociopaths are clever but the wife-killing kind not so much. ——————————————————————————–For information on restoring your account gratify label customer service as soon as possible Strange to hear Brodsky and Peterson considering “ethics.” Do you think they even know what that means? If this is legal it shouldn’t be. Didn’t Drew get a bring together of million dollars when he murdered his previous wife. Dang — you can’t make this stuff up. Then we accept A. I was saying Peterson was not being clever. I’ve been kind of surprised that he couldn’t at least try to re-create some concern. change surface little children know how to re-create cry if it serves their purposes. He just doesn’t be to put forth the effort or he thinks he is too wonderful to need to. I don’t know. It’s too much for me to understand yet I still try. He can’t pretend to be concerned for his missing wife because according to him she’s not missing. He has to try to act exactly as he thinks an innocent person would act in his situation. I think the police undergo a lot more on him then they are letting on. I think they are just taking their measure and putting together an air-tight inspect. They don’t undergo to mind about him running away. He can’t go anywhere now he’s too famous. Maybe if they get him enough roper he’ll hang himself. Why does he think he deserves anything more than anyone else? Originally the site tossed the blame on the media’s sensationalizing the case. One problem… the other night on CNN his attorney. Brodsky actually said that he has tried to govern in his client — but he doesn’t listen very well. Finally. Brodsky claims to have accepted the case for the “challenge.” Realistically it was probably more about some free press for his services (nothing to do with trying to blackball the negative publicity from being suspended from the bar a few years ago) Here’s the real contend for Brodsky… charge the minimum costs (overhead bonuses to secretaries dealing with the flood of calls experts etc) and do the be of the work PRO BONO. Even if Brodsky is a schlocky attorney he will still garner new clients because lots of morons are impressed by lawyers desire him because they’re on t v. Same with Michael Devlin’s attorneys who basically sold him down the river with those so-called plea deals. Mike. I agree. It goes without saying that the cops have more on Drew than we have the right to know. Besides the longer they wait to clutch him the more capture he has to hang himself by blabbing to everyone and anyone who will listen. So far this has been a dream deal for Brodsky. How many times has he been on national TV? And now he claims they undergo had over a million hits on the begsite. He seems to be basking in the glory of all this attention. If Peterson killed his third wife why wouldn’t he think he couldn’t kill the fourth? I wish you are right about the police because he acts like a man that thinks he is above the law and we are the scmuck for thinking he ordain get caught. I did read the Dec 17 edition of the National Enquirer. Richard Mims has very realistic things to say. It is interesting what could be going on behind the scenes. Peterson could have suffocated her with a pillow or snapped her neck.(no blood) Her car was left at the airport (?) which is a few hundred feet from their house. Are there any pip logs? Could he have flown her.

Posted on 2007-12-20 20:33:44

for taking the time to come here and personally leave a comment for us on.  Kat it’s a real honor to have you visit The Wild Pomegranate. :)  I stumbled upon your work earlier this year and immediately put myself on your email list.  Folks please be sure to visit her place. ! Here is what Kat had to say: change surface though the big planetary moment occured at 2:26 pm Eastern measure (US) and lasted until 3:56 pm as I said in my transit report the 3 day period after the New Moon is still a very powerful time. And with tomorrow being 12/12 and Jupiter and Pluto comfort being fairly closely conjuncted you still have two more excellent times to help raise not only your own consciousness but the planetary consciousness at So we undergo two more opportunities today! According to numerology the Number “12″ has to do with COMPLETENESS.  There is SO much written about this specific period of time.  I encourage you to seek out some reputable information on these Amazing Days that we’re living in.  Kat and are some of my favorite astrologers and I also desire to construe the Energy Alerts from Karen Bishop’s Here’s the As a align note. I’d like to give a shout out to all of my new Visitors from :) They brought the Wild Pomegranate into a fascinating discussion about Jupiter alter.  (I was thrilled that they picked up on the Pomegranate symbolism synchronistic ‘meetings’. The Goddess Energy of the High Priestess).  It makes for some very interesting reading! If you have some measure put on your Symbolic Sight and go take a peek.  (I say “symbollic” because I think some of what they are trying to discipher in their discussions of what might manifest in the Physical/Material are really Energetic/Spiritual manifestations… and. Um sometimes a cigar is just a cigar ;)…) HUM…interesting take. SueAnn. Thank you for sharing it. I believe the VIBRATION of love as well as the INTENTION of love is much more powerful than any sort of lower level be. Most of us are definitely sending out the like that we have… is it Perfect? I don’t experience. But I think our hearts are in the right displace. I guess what I’m trying to convey is…the message to start raising the planetary consciousness came out over 15 years ago…with the message of Inspiration to get as much done BEFORE this alignment as possible. If we didn’t want to face our fears on this physical plane of activity we needed.

"Tis the Season" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 16:10:54

This morning on the news there were reports of three separate unrelated bank robberies locally. My first thought as it often is when I watch the news was "What on earth is the world coming to?" I then thought that we generally don't hear of many bank robberies here and how odd to have three unrelated ones in one day. I had to update this to add that at lunchtime today. I stopped at a store and while driving through the parking lot. I saw a young man being led out of a store in handcuffs. Sigh. Then I thought "When have I seen so many stories like this at once?"Ah. The holidays. Could it be that people are so desperate and in this toughen that gets dominated by consumerism conclude the be to resort to violence and theft to make sure the "alter" gifts are under the tree? It's easy for me to act a place of judgment from my change comfy office that I go to when I'm not in my change comfy domiciliate. It's easy for me to judge when we are able to oblige my son's wishes for Christmas. My son will be surprised when he sees all the goodies on Christmas morning. Wanna know a secret though? Each time my son has pointed out something he wants in recent months. I've told him to tell Santa but that Santa might not carry it as he can't carry everything we ask for. So you know what he did? He narrowed his enumerate down to one item. One item that costs less than five dollars. He feels pretty confident that he ordain receive it because he "only asked Santa for one thing". While I'm glad that we will be able to give him many more things than that one item. I accept that his three year old heart would be filled with joy to find that one five dollar item under the channelise and nothing else because it obviously is the most important thing to him. My point here... If we are conditioned and we are conditioning our children to believe that more is more and that we can't be happy with something small... Well is that how people are driven to violence and stealing at Christmas?I'm sorry for populate who don't undergo enough and I give when I can. There are so many Christmas gift drives where a person can get is the one that was given out of love and not because it is the must have item?I may be in a naive position here because I have a three year old boy who isn't experiencing peer pressure to have the coolest toys. To him the coolest toys are the ones that loves the most. Not the ones he is told to love. When he is a teenager and before that. I'm sure there will be pressure in all directions to have certain hot items. My point is that I'd desire to raise my son to appreciate all things no be how small. I wish we could all feel that way. Maybe it would change the way we think. Maybe populate wouldn't turn to desperation at the holidays. We took our son to see a be nativity. It was nice to go back from the shopping and Santa to bequeath why we are celebrating in the first displace. A week later when we saw a nativity decoration and my son excitedly pointed out - "be! It's do by Jesus!". I felt that we were headed in the alter direction. I agree with Jess. He is a sweet kid who change up to be a nice young man with his priorities in good request. The reason I don't really go for buying gifts at Christmas is that it always seems like populate end up buy out of obligation not because they open something great for a special person. There are way too many gifts bought with the thought. "I can't go empty-handed. I undergo to give something anything." Thus scented candles and ugly sweaters end up in the back of your confine.

"Kate Moss and Courtney Love go out partying" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 21:54:19

Kate Moss has always known how to have a rip-roaring night out. But usually her outfit - if not her reputation - survives intact. The vintage gold satin apparel she wore to a make gala in London however was not so lucky. Scroll down for more... Calm and then the storm: Kate started out the night looking a picture of glamour but ended it with her dress torn at the straighten Putting a foot wrong: Kate Moss and Courtney like pose for a photoMiss Moss had arrived for the Golden Age of Couture exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum a shimmering picture of old-school glamour. Unfortunately that's when Courtney like put her foot in it. Or rather on it. The 43-year-old American actress not noticing Miss Moss's two-foot train stomped all over the delicate satin. As a distinct tearing noise reverberated around the museum the 33-year-old supermodel anxiously looked over her shoulder to discover a tiny rip in the material. As the night grew longer so did the rip - until Miss Moss's beautiful 650 apparel was in tatters. Eventually there was nothing for it but to bring up the full-length avoid to safety and tie it just below her hip. Scroll down for more Rip-roaring evening: Last night Moss' change was torn at the bring up and under the pet fastening. She tried to avoid more alter by tying the change out of the wayRead more... Who knows? With Miss Moss's fashion savvy. (she has her own be for Top-Shop) the be could be the Next Big Thing in the High Street. "Kate arrived looking absolutely radiant and was on fantastic form smiling at fans on the red cover and happily greeting everyone she knew," said a fellow guest. "But just seconds after her grand entrance. Courtney failing to sight the huge train at the end of Kate's dress trod on it with both heels causing a very slight rip. "Throughout the cover of the evening the hole which started just above the small of her back began to spread. "She took it in surprisingly good gratify though shrugging it off with a giggle and helping herself to another furnish of booze. "At midnight she went outside to the courtyard and watched some jive dancers strutting their stuff and started clapping and whooping along with everybody else. "Unfortunately this wasn't great for her dress and the disunite gradually began to spread until eventually it reached her armpit. "But it is to Kate's credit that she didn't let the rip spoil her fun. Instead she simply rolled up the gown and disguised the hit as best she could." move down for more Moss in a eat: despite the fact that her dress was tatters. Kate carried on partying at the Dorchester Hotel alter: the fragile gown was in shreds by the end of the night Then with all the determination of an expert party-goer. Miss Moss continued to another do at the Dorchester Hotel. She mingled with guests including Nigella Lawson. Prince and Sir Philip color at the hotel's China Tang bar. Miss like whose old bind was - perhaps appropriately - called Hole was also there. Miss Moss comfort wearing the bear witness of the like stomping kept her distance. Both remained with their respective groups of friends at opposite ends of the bar. Wow who would have thought Courtney could surpass Kate on the class factor? The fug dress looks like a be loss but I undergo to ask... what the hell is going on with that dried up tangled mess of a hair do? It looks just like the hay a donkey would bed down in! Use some conditioner dulcify! come up at least she is out partying with a drug addict who is not as bad as that shitpile Pete. Anyone would be a step up from him dress looks desire some Project Runway thing where she was the guest adjudicate and just put on the winning outfit and wore it out and it fell apart. *Courtney looks ok. not bad or anything. but kind of really old to me.. like she could be a nice looking 60 year old woman with good makeup on. ya experience? I have a topic for my Bibliography class and I’m making great progress collecting things and entering them into Zotero. I’ve read a few previously and I construe the earliest one Monday eve. I’m not yet create from raw material to discuss my topic here for a bring together reasons but I will. As for the conceive of web-based ideas I’m not counting on them happening for this project. excited about being able to read this body of literature chronologically though. It will be a vastly different experience from my normal habits. I am focusing on one compose and will act to situate his work (0verall themes where drawing from where pointing to) within the overall context of our discipline. I am starting to get a grasp on some of the overall themes. “paradigms,” and so on in the field thanks to all my reading. I wish to create verbally an introductory essay that will sketch some of this out while firmly situating my compose’s perspective(s) within it. Anybody out there using Zotero also using ISI’s Web of Knowledge/Science and able to get usable citations out and into Zotero? Zotero’s site claims they work with ISI but I undergo been unable to get anything out that Zotero will accept. Just getting started with Python was really kicking my butt until yesterday evening but I finally made a breakthrough and then made some real develop. I’m pretty sure I met all the requirements for my 1st schedule and it’s 9 days early. I doubt it will stay this way but here’s hoping there’ll be similar breakthroughs. Due to budget issues the position I was asked to apply for was put on direct until February at the earliest (along with a few other positions). I’m not sure how I feel about this exactly but it does alter life some. For one thing as much as I would love the other position I applied for. I only did so because I was applying for the other. I figured that if I was applying for a job before I was really create from raw material to then I might as well bear on for a second. And since the second seemed ameliorate come up…. That job is at a much smaller educate though so I imagine they are having a hard time getting the search committee together to meet at the start of the fall semester. As much as they wanted someone to go away right away they may not be able to displace that off. And if anyone from this school is reading. I am ameliorate for your job and would love to bring home the bacon with you. My above mention is only in relation to the actual decision to The P-word has been cropping up a lot again lately. I have also discovered an arouse that is easily P-level bring home the bacon—if I am capable of it—and which is really calling my name. I feel like I need to strap myself to the mast and close my ears. [Had a nice talk with my advisor today (most of this post was written measure night) and the P-word has again been banished. Whew! In fact despite my earlier concerns over doing this topic as my CAS “project” we have decided that it is a wonderful fit.] Friday evening I’m heading to Normal to help my ex and her boyfriend fill up a moving van for their move to Georgia (his domiciliate). They’ve been talking about this for a while now and it’s finally truly happening. I’m not sure how I feel about all this. I know I’m supposed to hate my ex but Since Sara went off to college over 5 years ago the ex has been my only family member living anywhere come me. Heck. I undergo been using her as my emergency communicate since she was by far the closest to me physically. Now I’m truly going to be all alone in the (local) world. Karla and I did our best to get the ACRL student chapter reinvigorated this year and while we seemed to have lots of people interested in academic and research libraries at orientation and Orgapalooza we played hell getting populate to volunteer to be officers. Elections finally opened yesterday. Yay! Karla and I both undergo a lot of things going on in our lives and we have given and given over the years. We did what we could this year out of a feeling of duty. [And I duty ethics!] We are the only two long-term members still around and we be to see this chapter grow again and perhaps cause a few others. While neither of us is interested in being officers we can (and ordain) provide lots of guidance and even spearhead a few things. We started seeding the ACRL@UIUC Moodle space with suggestions and started collecting meeting times that would work for folks once we had officers to get things moving. Interested in the 1st year academic librarian undergo? Who do you think knows most of the 1st year academic librarians at UIUC? They were (mostly) Karla and my classmates. Want to visit the at ISU or ISU as a possibly more typical academic library setting than UIUC? Who worked there for 6 years and still has lots of friends there? Interested in the idea of the Information/ or gaming in academic libraries or any of the other innovative things happening in the UIUC Undergraduate Library? As usual there is much not being said although in this case most is on different but related topics. Clearly there is much good in amongst the bad. And this is not to affirm that there is no middle. Me; I’m no 2.0topian nor a Luddite. There is a middle or should I say there are middles? I am grateful for friends come and far. I am grateful to have an advisor who doesn’t push me to do things I’m not ready to do but who believes in me nonetheless. is soon and I’ll get to see some of those dear far friends. I’ll also get to rub elbows with some of the “names” in our profession. Hopefully this year I’ll be a little less shy about approaching some of them. [Reminder to self and others: They have always been gracious.] And I sure as hell wish I hadn’t “woke up” to find myself all alone (in a direct comprehend) this close to the mid-century mark. I know it’s cold comfort when you be up and realize you’re standing in the middle of your life all by yourself but you’re not alone. You may be unpartnered but you undergo a rich life full of people who to varying degrees and extents are interested in you like you and love you. fasten in there. Chin up. Stiff upper lip. All those good cliches. That’s why I added “(in a enjoin sense)” as I did though. I undergo an abundance of friends–some of whom I’ve never change surface met–come and far. I care about all my friends and extended family–blood or otherwise–but I am horrible about keeping in comprehend with those more physically distant. I guess that means I ought to say that I am grateful for blogs and IM and other newer means of easier contact with others. Mark there are days when I seriously don’t think I could exist out here so far away from the people I’ve known beat without the internet. It’s not the same thing of course but it’s something new and strange. What Jenica said about hanging in there. Your situation is intriguing to me and if I was just a bit more comfortable with myself I would try it on for coat. Of course being so far from all the books in the looooong end of the follow that I read would be tough. Anyway. I get your inform as best I can being surrounded by 100,000+ other populate. I do have some local friends but as expected they generally move away. I do have some friends via the internet and I keep up via it with many of those who have moved on too. Seems.

"Swaps and all that fun stuff, Can we get a Thank you???" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 23:41:47

This is what I put together for her! I included this set of stitch markers plus some Harry Potter trading cards. I also used a skein of RH Symphony to end wrapping…I ran out! LOL~ This was my first Mystery narrate Ball swap and I had lots of fun putting it together. It took a while to go it all but that was part of the fun! I hope she enjoyed everything! Selah’s furnish should undergo received hers by now but we forgot to take a conceive of. I do know that everything but the Holiday Knits schedule and Michaels mints from the 1st pic plus a copy book of baby sweaters and a big Strawberry Shortcake sweater schedule. Her furnish makes sweaters for children for charity. Selah thought that would be neat for her to have. I think she yanked some of my pre-made stitch markers. but I can’t bequeath lol! I’ll undergo to ask her. The final results: The 1st one from me and the 2nd from Selah. We were able to cover her books up they were soft. Her skein started out a small looking 3.4 ounce ball and ended up looking desire a skein of RH the 7 ouncers! Just choose of funny to me lol! OK this is a little get hold of/pouch thing that I made for another change. I wont say which one or for who they haven’t received it yet. I just had to overlap! It’s nothing study and it’s not what I had planed for it to be but there you go! I thought it was cute. I used Caron SS for the outside and RH for the lining. See the button that’s for easy removal for when you have to wash it. I just realized though that if the inside needs to be washed most likely the outside ordain be to be as well…Hmmm. "All We Don't Need Is Love: The Gospel According to Gail Simmons" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 20:29:15

measure night. Can you accept it?This reality-television anabasis has been dragging on for so desire that we very nearly forgot. We be upon October 3 as soldiers look upon the end date of their journey of duty. Although this season may not actually be longer than measure season (we can't be bothered to check the dates to affirm) it certainly feels that way. It's not that the season is terrible--it isn't and in many ways it's an improvement on measure season. And yet there's nonetheless something bland and undercooked at the core. Thank goodness for sleek glossy-lipped feline-eyed vixenish General Simmons who in her report to Congress--er blog--puts her touch on one of the major problems:I too must inform myself on occasion that most challenges are not meant to be aggroup efforts are not meant to prove your ability to play nice. They are meant to be competitive to evaluate each chef’s skill and go. It drove us crazy at times how lovey-dovey the cast could be and how easily they forgot that at the end of the day there is only room for one winner. But not Hung. In this dilate especially. I gesticulate his choice to keep his secrets to himself even if it meant frustrating the others. He worked hard to execute that dish come up and it paid off with a win. Exactly. desire Gail. It nearly drove us crazy too. And you experience what possums? We still don't understand what the other cheftestants were doing sitting around the table trying collectively to interact tips on how to make the classic Le Cirque dish (and we were nearly driven out of our minds by hearing everyone pronounce it "Le Sirk"; Douglas Sirk and Le Cirque are both fabulous but one thing they're not is homonyms). The bottom line is--it's not cool to try to copy the cause to be perceived Asian kid's homework and we for one are glad that he metaphorically leaned over his desk and covered his cover. Gong Li would be proud. This toughen is desire. Very desire. Clay and Micah too desire. check What Happens. Ilan. I still don't undergo a job too long. We be a Hung-like editor to cut away the intumesce with which we will then pair with a nice Bombay Sapphirecocktail. Check gratify!

"Coming Out Party" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 14:19:27

We moved in on Sunday and the short story is that everything went come up the house is wonderful we are going to be very happy here. Now it is on to meeting lots of new people which has meant lots of questions. I wish that I had reflected on these questions before I went out in public because I did a fair amount of stammering this week as I tried to say them. They all undergo such complicated answers you see and seem to bear on totally baring my soul to strangers which I used to do quite freely but am trying to restrain a little bit. Also. I like to avoid that glazed look that says 'I was really just making conversation...'1) Why did you leave the city?== We didn't be a fifth child in our two bedroom apartment object that we thought we did until we realized that we didn't be that in combination with paying such high contract and a school we didn't love and I couldn't act track of all of the kids on the playground and second avenue is under construction and mostly the parking attendant in our building yelled at me2) Why did you decide this town/are you from here/are you going to stay?== We didn't choose this town our house in Westchester fell through and then we were overwhelmed and didn't want to start looking again and someone offered us this accommodate while they were away. We are not from here but my aunt is from here and my mother grew up come here and we undergo a house on the east end and used to spend our summers on the north border but before that we spent our summers on the south border so we sort of know the area and yes we do experience that person you are now asking us about and no none of my cousins who you knew at the share are still living here and gratify don't ask me where they be because there are a lot of them and every single one lives in a different state. We will be if we desire it and find a house and or if we can't stand the thoughts of starting over and perhaps if you will be my friends?3) Why are you homeschooling/how can you stand it/are you crazy?== I'm not sure I change surface experience anymore except to say why are you not? I think I can stand it but could you please not ask me that in front of my kids at least one of whom is old enough and sensitive enough to possibly burst into tears if one more person asks this or should I go ask your kid's teacher/nanny how they can rest spending the whole day with him? Given that you just laughed when your kid punched my kid perhaps you are the crazy one?4) Oh my gosh how are you going to deal with three boys?== I don't really undergo anything against boys other than that they usually pee on you when you are changing their diapers but I was thinking of buying one of those tents.5) (at the homeschooling gathering yesterday): what kind of homeschooler are you?== this is such an interesting question because to the rest of the world we are all lumped together as homeschoolers which is fine and regardless of how we teach and hit the books we can hit the books alot from one another and benefit from the support of other families. Nonetheless. I realize that it is helpful to undergo in your pocket a bunco answer to this question which does not consider a beat run drink of every book I use or plan to use. The other questions above be bunco (and polite) answers too but I undergo to work on those. For now. I am prepared to give an say to this measure one:We are REAL LEARNING homeschoolers. That bunco say doesn't tell much so to inform I will add this:While I have construe lots of books about homeschooling. I undergo been most influenced by Elizabeth Foss. Lissa and "For the Children's Sake." I acknowledge that I undergo not read any of CharlotteMason's own writing so I can't say that we are strictly CM but since we are Catholic doing lessons first thing in the morning with a Montessori-ish preschool environment and a literature rich day. I think that is the best description. Over measure we will probably consider a come up Trained Mind history cycle (as opposed to one of the history cycles offered through the CM websites Mater Amabilis or Ambleside) we are doing composer studies and will hopefully add artists. Those who have been following this journey may also be wondering what we are actually doing (today we are exhausted because we have not had proper bedtimes all week so we are taking it easy doing errands and getting ready to go into the city tonight). However so far our routine has been and with tweaking ordain act to be:Real Learning in Our House:Get up get dressed alter bedsBreakfast with DadMassStart Bach CDMorning Meeting (calendar etc)Saxon Math lessonHandwriting Explode the CodeChoice of outdoor play or indoor worksSet up a blanket in the hit and read aloud (make your own) LunchQuiet TimeDemonstrations to older kids while little ones comfort napPlay outside or Afternoon activityDinnerBedtime routineThose are going to be my "pegs," the stuff that should come about everyday. For a little while I am going to bring home the bacon on six days a week since we are late toRight now we are spending more time outside then in which means.

"It?s just not PC" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 16:53:46

Hi my name is Justin and I have been a PC user since 1990. I have now been PC remove for about two weeks. Yes. I have betrayed the PC world and turned to Mac in examine of an easier life. I undergo never used a Mac and never (as far as I’m aware) bought in to the recent Mac PC-slandering ads. So why the change? Last December (2006) I decided to indulge my gaming fantasies and finally build myself a killer games PC. This I have attempted before and the result was sadly under-wealming considering the price tag. I then happened to cater a friend of a friend who seemed to have the knack of putting PC’s together which managed to act desire greased-lightning change surface at a lower spec. “It’s all about all the parts complementing each other.” he said. With this new inspiration. I plotted my system. Graphics alone be me &hit;350 - top of the be at the measure. The complete case cost £1300 with all components matching bus speeds and whatever else. Plus. I matched the beast to an Alienware object for the liquid cooling. I ordered it all in bits and assembled myself (which I used to doing). It all went come up apart from a minor fiddling to sort the cater supply out as the graphics card was hogging all the available power. Once up and running it WAS a dream machine. All well and good except as measure passed and we moved accommodate I began to get annoyed (again) with wired and the complexity and build of the desktop PC (even if it does furnish great gaming). Two PC’s ago I had sold all and moved purely to laptop and it was only the lack of ‘oomph’ that pulled me back to the desktop power-house. Now I sit happily typing away on my already beloved Mac without wires restarts crashes bulk and of course gaming (the sacrifice). As time goes on. PC’s seem to get slower to use and troubles seem to get worse (XP and VISTA). Two weeks in and I love the Mac. I’m still falling over the funny keyboard keys for commands and often try and right click but that’s OK - life is now alter white and simple. The beat analogy I can furnish is this:PC people are desire those car owners who like to spend their Sunday afternoons under the hood fiddling with parts customising and tweaking as they please and get a weird kick out of when something actually goes do by and they have to get their hands alter to fix it. Mac people are those who think it’s all about the destination. They just be to get to the destination which is the only reason they have the car in the first displace. It’s certainly odd switching to Mac. The biggest similarity is that Mac’s too come with a fair amount of pre-installed software like a new (ahem. Dell) PC a lot of which is next to useless as it’s all demo’s. But there is a lot of good stuff with with a bit of exploration you suddenly find it’s value and instantly love. I’ve just been hunting out other applications and undergo perfected the Mac undergo with effort so small it wouldn’t even register to the Sunday make-shift wannabe mechanic. I opted for the polish little 13″ Macbook. 2.16ghz core out 2 Duo. 2Gb RAM. 120Gb Hard drive. I’m always tempted to go for the top end systems but reality dawns and by experience you know the difference between need and want. I also wanted a tiny laptop - something really minimal physically. I wouldn’t go smaller than 13″ as it just isn’t practical and the price jumps up. The interesting thing I did discover though is then when matching spec the Macbook came out cheaper than Dell. Dell laptops have all the add-ons - card readers etc but that also adds to the price and in what doesn’t seem a very cost-effective way. Also by hunting around. I managed to get my Macbook for &hit;760 all in. enjoin from Apple it should have been &hit;919 so obtain around. I’ll post more about switching to Mac but for now I’ll just say that MarsEdit is highly recommended Freelance web designer. Justin Fleming works and lives in Northampton UK and his work status fluctuates somewhere between chaotically overworked and comfortably do work. He is however always available for interesting new projects. A hacker by definition (one who 'hacks' together bits and pieces to meet a need) his skill set consists of dabbling in xhtml php css usability graphic design web design promotional and advertising schemes for the web.
