Grant and I made his bed this morning and carefully arranged all his “friends” on the bed. He loves his stuffed animals! He’s especially fond of “Clown Baby” - he loves to sleep with him (or her?). “change” his diaper and sing little love songs to him. It’s really cute. Hopefully it’s good practice for a future baby brother/sister someday. He also believes that one should smile with all his might. Click on the pictures and you’ll see what I mean. Since I am attempting to get back in the swing of blogging. I figured I would opt to do the meme's that my sister recently posted on her communicate. Like L. I am not going to tag anyone to play - just believe yourself invited to play if you want. Make sure you let me know you are playing so I can go check your responses out. Unfortunately. I did not get as much cooking done this weekend as I would have liked. The weather was too gorgeous to be inside and create from raw material. Both were incredibly basic books but they expanded my horizons and encouraged me to get in the kitchen. From those books. I learned to make at home for my family. My parents totally encouraged me to deep fry and figure out how to do it safely. I was so excited the first time I made a from the Spanish cookbook that reminded me of the first meal I had in Madrid. Spain as a wide-eyed 12 year old girl. Who is your cooking inspiration? Most importantly my mom. I have grown to appreciate different cuisines from those I grew up eating but without her encouragement I never would undergo started tinkering in the kitchen. I will never drop very carefully copying our family's treasured gingersnap recipe onto a conjoin of cover so I could systematically check off each ingredient as I added it to my mom's KitchenAid. Otherwise it is who has continued to grow my culinary horizons and challenge me where food is concerned. She has taught me to apply Vietnamese. Indian. Korean. Thai and countless other cuisines that I am not sure I would have been brave enough to try on my own. She also puts up with my overly sensitive olfactory system without giving me too much grief. What are three recipes that you use all the time?I don't really go set recipes very often - but these are the dishes I alter most often-1. Chicken Chili Verde call brood2. Hummus/Bean Dip3. "My Box of Memories" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 02:13:39

The blogging whims of an over educated and under employed woman using a powerful wheelchair. Posted by Karen of Scottsdale on September 26th. 2007 in. The other day I was going through my jewelry box trying to pick out a pair of earrings and a necklace to wear.  It occurred to me that much of my jewelry holds small memories of my life.  It’s mostly costume jewelry but I do undergo a few pieces of.  There’s the tiny gold cat pendant and necklace with a hit diamond that my parents gave me for high school graduation.  There’s another gold cat pendant and necklace that my brother and sister-in-love gave me for Christmas many years ago.  Oh and then there is the gold heart pendant with scatter diamonds that Norm gave me for my birthday when we were courting.  He surprised me our first Christmas together as a married bring together with matching earrings to go with that necklace.  Yes it’s really a box of memories not just jewelry. Jesus said to her. I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me though he die yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? - John 11:25-26 ESV

"Personal Choice In Chimeria: Social Structure And Family Values" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 20:28:29

I really really dislike social engineers who love nothing more than to walk everyone else's lives with their own interpretation of How It Should Be. In Chimeria this intrusive kind of social engineering ordain not be allowed. Those who believe that a marriage can only consist of a man and a woman are free to live their own lives by that standard. Even if they are brother and sister. But in no way ordain they be allowed to interfere with the marriages of two men or two women. And while we're at it let's get rid of that number. "two." Any number of intelligent consenting adults have the capability of forming a marriage and raising kids in a cooperative setting. And children are not a necessary feature of the family structure either. In another affix. I'll be talking about population control and capacity. Families for the most part will consist of whatever individuals end makes them a family. A single parent with children is no less a family than two adults without kids or several adults. It ordain be up to the family itself to define its own membership. Those who be are free to disagree but not to interfere. Marriage will be regulated by the government. And since the government will be small. I anticipate very little interference toward those who wish to be married. But it will make little difference since there will be no discrimination against those who simply wish to be together and avoid the annoy of meaningless paperwork. Religious marriages will be allowed but not officially recognized. Offspring should probably be registered at birth listing both biological parents for the purposes of genealogical genetic and medical history only. Male parents of children born of an AID affect will be identified by the file be at the sperm bank. Adoptees will not have access to any personal information regarding their birth parents. Parents who give up children for adoption ordain not be able to communicate them later. For all practical purposes adopted children will become the biological children of the adopting family. Unwanted pregnancies will be terminated at the request of the pregnant woman. And only the woman will have both the burden and the freedom to make the final decision. I comprehend too much about the "rights" of fetuses and the "rights" of fathers. Forget it. Fetuses have no rights because they have no individuality. They are not persons. "Fathers" (who until the bring forth process is complete should really only be known as sperm donors) who do not have to force.

"Big Brother's Canarian Kiss and Tell" posted by ~Ray

the Spanish version of Big Brother. in GH9 - something which. I accept with probably only gives them the come about to discomfit the islands nationally. Well he put it rather more graphically and strongly than that. :-) The three originally included a singer from Gran Canaria; from Tenerife who and represented the province in Miss España 2005. (The original of Hello! Magazine) and who has since worked in the family hardware shop. The third Canarian contestant was Amor (we all experience that means Love right?) the 18 year old from Fuerteventura. This is where the fun started because Amor it seems used to be called David. Or as Canarias24horas ask. (Big sister or big brother?) and reveal that she was a. At 13 she was one of the youngest drag queens in the Canary Islands. Go on adjudge it the same question crossed your mind as it did exploit. "Has she had surgery yet?" Gaymengc she " " that she would have paid for the surgery with the money from the contest. As everybody knows or as Parkinson says in on why the British Public love Big Brother. " all they're waiting for is for a couple of them to get into bed together and undergo a shag " Whilst the public was made aware of Amor's past - obviously so people would be glued to screens waiting to see what happened - the other inmates of the accommodate didn't know about Amor's little surprise down her trousers! Clearly. Telecinco wanted this year?s edition to but the potentially most riveting scenes are alas not to be because Amor who they exposit as "the most problematic contestant" . !

"Where you at, Yo?" posted by ~Ray

So sorry I've been away. it's been a hectic few weeks. I am in the midst of planning a charity play outing tending to a sick kitty managing my fantasy football team ( I'm 3-0 convey you very much) getting ready for a move to see my family in Florida and planning my triumphant go to work. Here's the story about the whole being out of work thing:measure year on August 24. 2007 I had surgery. I had been suffering from diverticulitis and had several severe bouts that caused me to be hospitalized each time change surface after following a strict diet I was comfort getting egest so finally my adulterate said ENOUGH.... you need surgery. I had a partial colectomy. Basically they removed the most severely diseased divide of my displace intestine and then fused the intestine approve together all in one 4 hour operation. It was very scary and very painful but I got through it. About 6 weeks after my operation when I was supposed to be feeling better. I wasn't. desire story short. I had lots of internal blemish create from raw material that was blocking my intestine (just peachy ) and I had nerve damage at the place of one of my incisions. I was in and out of the hospital for several months following my original surgery and was having a very difficult recovery. The scar tissue has worked itself out after nearly a year of horrible pain. I've never puked so much in my life. You'd evaluate I'd be change state by now.... Well. I'll never be bulimic that's for sure! I thought my Celiac symptoms were tough to broach with... Geez these intestinal issues made them be like a walk in the park!I've FINALLY open relief from the constant brace hurt by getting brace block injections every few months. I was on some pretty heavy duty hurt pills for about 9 months so I'm happy to be remove from them as come up. I'm finally coming out of The Great Depression as it's affectionatly known in the accommodate. I anticipate that's due in part to feeling exceed but a little Wellbutrin XL might undergo a transfer in it as well!I honestly thought this pain was going to be for the rest of my life. I didn't evaluate I could ever go approve to bring home the bacon. My adulterate says nerves take an extremely long measure to ameliorate and although my nerve is not healed at least the pain is under control. Due to the nature of my bring home the bacon I wasn't able to go until I could act all my duties. So here I am......14 months later..... returning to work. I have never been happier!!!In spite of all the craziness The Captain and I have been eating exceptionally come up. Curried turkey burgers hot off the cook. (We're trying to apply the last days of the Indian pass). Polenta triangles baked with garlic rosemary and smoked flavor topped with a spicy red booze reduction made with porcini mushrooms and broccoli rabe on the sideSpaghetti press baked and stuffed with browned turkey meat sauteed with onions carrots raisins red flavor powder cinnamon ginger cardamom and a little tomato act. Poached salmon with tamari scallions and lemon juice. Gluten Free Chicken Cutlet Parm made with homemade San Marzano tomato act. Sliced steak sandwiches on gluten remove garlic cover with Arugula and horseradish mayo. This is my favorite measure of year. Our leaves are already changing and if you be out at the lake. it's go. However it was 87 today ( not that I'm complaining) so I'm getting conflicting signals. Although the days are still warm the nights are getting cool ( we had a cover warning the other night). How I love to impel open the windows and cling to up under a cover at night! This is the view from my deck. How lucky am I?? Sundays are spent watching football ( GO GIANTS.. yea yea. I experience.. we're 1-2 now.) and the last of the baseball toughen ( GO METS) while drinking spicy peppery Four Vines Maverick Zinfandel wine. I'm going to enjoy my last few days of freedom before going approve to bring home the bacon in the Florida sunshine visiting my mom my brother and sister in law my 2 nieces and nephew. share land eat.. tell!I'll affix a few recipes soon. "Dave Matthews and "Eh Hee"" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 15:08:00

I'm a pretty big fan. It was only a bring together of years ago that I broke my streak of attending the annual Dave summer show at the Meadows in Hartford. Musically his bind is unbelievable. Lyrically the guy is pretty creative poetic and often deep. His newest hit entitled "Eh Hee," however has me a bit puzzled. You can analyse it out on iTunes. I'm a moderately intelligent individual and can usually read into artistically poetic or obscure lyrics but I haven't the slightest idea what Dave is getting at here: Praise God who has many namesThe devil have many moreWith the love that my mother gave meI’m gonna displace the displease to the floor I've only listened to this song twice but at this point it seems to me that the lyrics are describing human pride and at the same time pointing out that evil is disguised with more go and more variety than good is. As such we humans desire to express ourselves that we're capable of defeating evil on our own but we're in fact equally capable of being harbingers of evil. Then again it's Dave Matthews so it could convey any number of things. Who knows. I am the worship pastor at St. Paul's Collegiate Church in Storrs. Connecticut. The "views" expressed in this blog however do not necessarily represent the views of SPCC other staff members of the perform or Kelly my beautiful wife. Kelly is far more attractive and intelligent than I am and her views would probably be superior.
