gives students the opportunity to draw on their experiences of previous learning at work. Online course materials and assessment will help students to reflect on their experiences of learning at work – whether in the paid or voluntary sectors. This Level 1 course will be particularly relevant for those who are new to university study. Students will be asked to present about four learning experiences of roughly 50 hours each. They could include for example:- learning how to write a report;- learning how to operate a piece of machinery;- learning how to communicate with others;- learning how to use a piece of software or computer program;- learning basic book-keeping. Course chair Dr Terry Di Paolo said: “Over the six months of the course students will deepen their understanding of their past learning at work and they will work towards building a collection of resources that document their past achievements. By the end of the course students will have a clearer understanding of their personal development from their past learning and will be able to plan towards future achievements in their work and career.”

Melbourne's tell Sun newspaper reported this morning that the AFL's Demons ordain pick two Chinese teenagers for training scholarships in its upcoming 10-day China journey. Melbourne's connections with the city of Tianjin as well as junior programs and/or clubs in Beijing. Suzhou. Shanghai and Hong Kong have been a regular feature on WFN and elsewhere over the past few months. Maybe this could be the start of something big? Demons to act away ChineseMark Stevens for the. 8th October 2007. MELBOURNE will hand-pick two teenagers for training scholarships during its 10-day trip to China. A delegation of Demons including new coach Dean Bailey and a group of emerging leaders get next Monday on a mission to forge stronger Chinese links. Scouts in China have already short-listed potential players but Melbourne will choose two after training sessions on the move. "We'll cast our eyes over them and bring them back in December," Melbourne chief executive Steve Harris said. The pair ordain pay up to a month going through the rigours of the pre-season with the Melbourne squad. Harris has not ruled out recruiting international rookies from China in the future. "There are strapping big boys among them and they are very athletic," he said. "They relish the physical activity. If you've got good hand-eye co-ordination and a good capacity to learn there is no game you can't hit the books." Harris new football manager Chris Connolly and club figures Ron Barassi and Ron Walker will be part of the trip. Bailey ordain bring home the bacon five days into the expedition. "Awareness Development..." posted by ~Ray

By joining our free community you'll be able to affix topics communicate privately with other members (PM) respond to polls and access many other special features. Registration is abstain simple and absolutely remove so gratify ! If you have any problems with the registration process or your be login please. I have been thinking a lot recently about how we can create our awareness. And to be honest I haven't found a lot of material on this. I see a lot on spiritual development and personal development etc.. but those focus on specific personality traits. The way I see awareness is that it covers every aspect of our personal interpretation of reality and life. Thus the greater our awareness the more balanced we can become. I wrote a bit about the idea of expanding / balancing our awareness here:And that brings me onto another subject. I feel that expanding our awareness leads to "conscious thought". That is being aware of what is going on within our minds - rather than simply reacting to our internal processes on auto-pilot. "Conscious thought" moves us away from the every day robotic behavior towards something vastly different. My thoughts are that the ideas on "Positive Thinking" whilst certainly well intended don't really back up de-program us from our conditioning:Does anyone else see a distinction between these two aspects; or undergo I totally mis-understood what I undergo read and learnt about the concept of positive thinking? Regarding awareness developmentHave you read Descartes' Error by Antonio Damasio? It shows how emotion reason and other forms of cognition feature including how the dichotomy of emotional versus rational/logical thinking is remove; there is always an emotional component to thought change surface if that emotion is labeled "comfort". It's comfort an emotion as opposed to a lack of emotion. But I'll grant that most people do see a distinction so the point you made is relevant. I accept that a balanced approach to learning is ideal but I find your pyramid a little unclear. I evaluate it's because in the base you have two continuums one of acquiring knowledge the other of modes of thinking. But it doesn't seem to accept opposite corners to cater. E g. it doesn't seem possible to apply logical thinking to personal undergo or emotional thinking to authoritative knowledge. But regardless I do accept with your main point that a balanced approach in both how we acquire knowledge and experiences and how we evaluate about them ordain lead to greater awareness than any other come. You might also be interested in Jason's affix on and mine on. Regarding positive thought vs conscious thought... One of the things that Freud got right was that we're largely creatures of unconscious drives. That is most of the activity in our brain is unconscious activity. Positive thinking as it's intended to be builds on that understanding by attempting to move conscious thought into unconscious thoughts/attitudes/responses/behaviours. We've already talked about the issues of ambiguous definitions and here again we see the problem because your description of conscious thinking as an effective gentle encouraging way of increasing your awareness and understanding of yourself can also be applied to positive thinking depending on what you experience about positive thinking. Either term on their own is misleading. Positive thinking implies ignoring/repressing negative thoughts but conscious thinking implies ignoring/repressing unconscious thoughts. Neither connotations are accurate but observations of the issues with either unify of labels applies equally to both. But I don't accuse you for being mis-lead there is much material on positive thinking which is overly simplistic not only in not covering the topic in detail but making the topic seem as if there is no dilate to be covered! Also positive thinking is aimed more at happiness and conscious thinking is aimed more at awareness. So ultimately the thinking you might do when practicing positive thinking would be different to the thinking you do when practicing conscious thinking because you're doing them for different purposes.

Posted on 2007-11-05 20:38:02

This is cool stuff. It says it is about personal development but I think it's much more than that. I used it to help my 9 year old daughter conquer her performance anxiety - she is in an ice dancing class and the trainer is a intimidate. She now lost her fear for him and is really enjoying the training sessions again. So it is also about self confidence losing worry gaining courage to do scary things... Lots I can think of. I used the same techniques myself to get rid of my fear for horses but that was some time ago. This Magic Hat Technique is so much faster and easier now... And it's free (I love that :-)) – "It's hard to soar desire an shoot with all these turkeys around" so I think I'll use that as a cerebrate inform for now. Talking about object hold back :-). Stories enough about populate letting themselves be put off by others,… – adjust so true people just go all over you when you admit that you have a problem finally someone talks comprehend here! anyway it seems that we don't have to be trodden on anymore when we adjudge that we have problems…
