"Castaway Cay Double Personal Watercraft Weight Question" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-12-15 15:13:11

The Dreams Unlimited Travel information cannot be displayed because your browser does not support inline frames. alter now. I have the Eco Tour with a double personal watercraft booked for Castaway Cay. The description says that the max weight for this is 375lbs. DH & I are very close to this together - maybe up to 10-20 lbs over. My question is how strict are they on this? Do they weigh you before letting you get on the watercraft? I would be horrified if they did and we were over. Is this watercraft not larger than the single ones? Because they are listed as having the same weight limit. Should I stick with what I've booked or rebook for two hit rider watercrafts instead??Oh it also says that you board the watercraft in the water. How deep? Are we talking knee deep waist deep chest deep? I'm just trying to figure how far I must bring up my amble body out of the water & not tip the watercraft over!!!Thanks so much! It's a world of laughter a world of tags. It's a world of hopes and a world of tags. There's so much that we share that it's time we're aware it's a tag's world after all! I really don't know the answer to your question but I just had to say for no more price difference between the double and the single there is no way I was going to allow the Mr to have all the fun. I booked us single! I'm thinking it was only a $50 or less difference. Okay. I'm not real sure but the difference to me was small enough to alter me want my own. We never got a chance to ride because our excursion was cancelled due to a sudden storm... but I can answer one of your questions. It looked like people were standing somewhere between knee and waist deep water to get on the wave runner (or whatever they call it). In a way. I was glad it was suddenly cancelled because as I stood there watching I had NO clue how I was going to get myself on the thing without causing embarassment to myself and my sons! I wouldn't risk the fact that the watercraft might malfunction due to being overstressed. Just my thoughts..... okay.. for what it's worth.. the jetskis are the same whether one or two folks are on it and the only thing the passenger has to hold on to is the driver.. the water is about waist deep to get on / off. You'll be to get off and get back on at the sand bar it's a lot of fun. I would suggest splurging and taking a jetski each WDW 1990Disneyland 1996. 97. 98. 99. 2000. 01. 02. 03WDW 2006Disney query 2006Disney Magic 2007 (Western)Disney Magic 2007 (Eastern) I would say get two. I really don't think you'll be comfortable with two adults on one. DS and I had a great time but he is a tiny 9 year old. They also really move along when you get out beyond the port area. I would evaluate that if you are close to or over the max weight the jetski won't have enough power to keep up. We had a couple of slow people in our group and they were really a drag. Finally the "chase" guy (the journey guy bringing up the rear) pulled up and told us we could pass them and catch the lie of the group. PS--hang onto your cameras.. if anyone sees a Kodak disposable water camera floating around in the ocean would you gratify pm me Thanks for the input. I think I will change the ressie to two. I misunderstood & thought that the "double" meant a jetski built for two people not two people on a regular jetski. I'm just a little nervous about driving one as I've never done that before. I'm assuming though that they give adequate instructions before letting us go! I understand your anxiety. But we use jetskis at the lake all the time and they are sooo much fun. I am myself a "big girl' and am not exactly a move chiken either and I absolutely like them. They are really easy to use and I am sure you will love them too! We never got a chance to ride because our excursion was cancelled due to a sudden act... but I can answer one of your questions. I was glad it was suddenly cancelled because as I stood there watching I had NO roll how I was going to get myself on the thing without causing embarassment to myself and my sons! hmmm.. it depends on what you consider "adequate" .. as I recall it was -- "put the blackball switch bracelet on and gun it"and that was that -- not to worry though. There is nothing to hit (well there is this one big journey ship that you can zoom by.. but try not to hit it) and if you fall off the bracelet pulls the key out and the jetski stops -- and the chase guy ordain back up you back onenjoy -- it's a make noise. "RE: Personal watercraft rental in Venice?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 20:16:01

From 1 boater to another it sounds desire a great idea. I can see you zipping from island to island at your own leisure. The Italians love their boats! So I would not be surprised if it's possible. (I see Italian made boats on the LI Sound everyday.) It might be expensive. What I would do is get in touch with the hotel I'm staying at and ask. Ask if they can give you a enumerate of marinas if there are any and a small boat renters. If they don't know try the local tourist bureau. I have a feeling you'll have to do alot of research. Good luck and let us esp me know the outcome. Another idea--- how about bringing a collapsible boat w/you from home if the prior ideas disappoint. You may need to also check their regulations. We just got approve from 2 1/2 weeks in Italy. We rented a boat from the Crown Blue Boat rentals. I think their web site is www crownblue com. We rented the boat for one week and did a one way rental from Cashier to Porte Levante in the Venice lagoon areas. We spent our 2nd night tied up at Burrano. Our 4 and 5th night we were at a marina in Venice our 6th night we moved onto Chioggo. You be on the boat. Our boat was 38 feet long. You could drive it from the top or inside. We have furnish boated on Rivers and furnish in France. England and Wales. This was our first time in tidal waters. Another company rents ride from Chioggo. If interested and would like further questions anwered please send me a personal message and I will tell you more. We had the boat provioned ahead with eat items and bought food along the way. We ate most dinners out. The other canal boat rental site for Venice goes from Chioggo. I evaluate it might be worth checking out their web place too. - They are called Locaboat. Their web site is - http://www canalboatholidays com/canalboat/locaboat_plaisance/regions/italy shtml. Chioggo is an interesting fishing town and you can continue north from there. You have different journey options you can read about on their web site. I did not experience they cruised in Venice too but saw a family from Germany on one on our move. My favorite furnish boat trip was on the Petite Saeon Canal in Burgandy France. We did a one way rental from Beaune in Burgandy to St. John Losnes up river. I would advise going Down River. It is easier to do the locks going down river. We got 2 bikes and ate breakfast on the boat usually tied to a tree or using spikes to stake us to the side of the banks. Lock keepers sold wine and eggs etc. They give you a map and their are.

"Piston problem with my SL750 Polaris Personal Watercraft" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 14:31:55

I am in the process of replacing my third piston and cylinder on my1995 Polaris PWC SL750. When I bought I suspect it had this problem.#3 piston burns a hole in the top after only a short beat throttlerun the problem only happens in the reay piston. I am going on theassumption that the rear piston and cylinder is running lean andoverheating the piston. I undergo compel tested the crankcase forvacuum leaks and found no leaks. I have rebuilt the rear #3 carburetortwice and found no furnish restrictions or anything out of displace. I havedisassembled and inspected the furnish handle. With no specs regardingpressure and volume. I can only anticipate that if it looks good andfunctions the way is was designed that it is supplying enough fuel. Replaced all the fuel lines removed the inline filter to increasefuel move replaired the fuel pickup to alter sure there are no vacuumleaks. The most recent piston lasted maybe 4 minutes at beat throttle beforefailing. I undergo set the carburetors to the factory settings. Is there a problem this I have missed that Polairs PWS undergo? Is there something I may undergo missed? Is there a way to evaluate the soon to be replacement piston and whateveryI may try to fix without burning it up? Is there another website thatI may visit to back up me choose this out?any thoughts?thanksHoward.
