"The romance of the cup" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-23 12:42:04

While Manchester United and Chelsea attracted all the headlines with their goal feasts on Saturday afternoon one of the most eagerly awaited events on the football calendar took place somewhat away from the limelight. For traditional football fans the FA Cup 1st Round is as big as it gets. This is when the clubs from the bottom two divisions go into the hat with quaint sounding non league teams in the knowledge that just seven victories could see them at Wembley next May. The lower division clubs realistically stand no chance of progressing as increasingly the Cup is now in the private domain of the Big 4 and the romance has been ditched in favour of cold hard cash but try telling that to Hereford United no strangers to cup upsets themselves in the past. Their tiny Edgar Street stadium a ground I visited with Arsenal back in 1985 on FA Cup 3rd round day will roll out the red carpet for Leeds United dreams of glory eclipsing the reality of Leeds current predicament. In true cup style Hereford known as the Bulls are playing down the tie insisting their focus is the League where they currently lie in a play off spot one division below Leeds United. Bournemouth from the south coast won’t see any romance in whoever they play in the first round. With a replay pending they will have to travel wither to Farsely Celtic in West Yorkshire or Barrow which is even further north. The sands will seem a long way off for the Cherries who have their own little reputation in the cup. They beat Manchester United one year at home while in 1971 Ted MacDougall scored nine as they trounced Margate 11-0. Today they’re bottom of League One and those days seem very far off indeed. With a trip north in winter time it looks like they will have to wait a bit longer for some glory. Then there’s team Bath against Chasetown which had me googling frantically. Team Bath are a bunch of students in full time education at Bath University and they play in the British Gas Business Football League Premier Division while a couple of years back Chasetown gave Oldham Athletic a scare while delighting their bank manager. Cheltenham and Brighton were Georgian towns where the nobility of the time used to holiday in genteel surroundings. There will be nothing gentle when the two teams line up for FA Cup action next month with Cheltenham hoping for a morale boosting cup win to help them forget their feeble start to the season while Brighton finalists in 1983 of course when they were just a Gordon Smith fluff away from beating Manchester United have started well sitting just outside the play off positions. With 6 or 7 all non league affairs there are a few plumbers and taxi drivers out their in non league football who will be allowing themselves the big dream. A big team in the next round and a last minute winner or penalty save would catapult them into the big time and for a while the romance of the cup will be back with us.

"Romance Novels and Vibrators" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:16:54

So I end to pick up a bring together of romance novels for the hell of it.  I intend on blogging about them as I go along.  The choice was rather random since I don't experience anything about them so I chose a schedule by it's adjoin.. literally.  One is a Western and the other is more Gothic.  I'm thoroughly intrigued by this billion dollar industry.  Most writers don't alter half of what these romance novelists make.  The last measure I read a romance novel was when I was 12 or 13 years old and I was very curious.  I was change surface considering becoming a romance writer after learning how profitable it was but I had never read one so I picked one up from the local library.  I chose a novel by Jennifer Blake and it had a measure of the Mohicans element to it.  That book just totally fucked me up! LOL!  That's were I learned the word man-root.  So much tease but no insertion or satisfaction.  WTF?  At that age when the hormonies are wild you should never ever read a romance novel.. you'll only be disappointed that sex never is like what you construe.  In the car on the ride back home. I proceed to rant and my poor preserve has too comprehend since he was trapped in the car with me but he enjoyed it and got a good laugh:<mouth>You know you're a perv when the idea of a Catholic confession turns you on.  I convey come on how sexual can you get.  Those little confessional rooms are sexy in a dominatrix-dungeon setting kinda way.  You get on your knees in a little box some mysterious guy in a dress who you call "create" asks you if you've been bad.  No query a lot of pervs are priests!  Speaking of perversion. I'd like to get more ars erotica type books ok?  I'm not much for modern porn especially the kind geared towards women it's so maim and cliché-ish. Who the hell finds it sexy when a man holds his wiener like a beer can between his legs?  I just wanna tell him to get the fuck up and do the arouse laundry.  And what's with the cowboy theme?  Who the hell masturbates in a hay stack?  Isn't hay sharp and hard?  He'd come out with his balls looking desire a porcupine! Ouch!  I'm all for the spurs especially if I'm the one wearing them while riding a guy and digging them into his taut buttocks..."Giddy Up!" LOL!What the hell is it with these romance novels and period settings?  Don't get me do by. I love corsets and all but go on it's a bit over done no?  And what's with the use of the word man-root?  "And her thighs slowly parted for his man-root". What the copulate is a man-root? Is it like a mandrake? And why is it associated with a penis? And how the hell do you spell it?  I don't know. I just don't sight that word sexy: "Would you like to see my man-root?... Only if you want to see my cervix". And what's with the thighs always quivering?  My thighs don't quiver.. agitate maybe but never quiver.  And the breast heaving.. my breast don't heave!  What the copulate is heaving.. sounds like something you do if you mix a few beers with several shots of tequila. Did you noticed that the only other person browsing in the romance divide was a grandmotherly looking woman?  Can you create by mental act the kind of schedule club she's probably a move of... The Red Hat act Readers and Vibrators Club.  "I just got this new novel with Fabio on the cover and I love this new color vibrator with the work clit tickler"  Why the hell do vibrators undergo animal clit ticklers?  I don't know but I just can't get off to a color work or go rabbit tickling my clit.  Is it just me?  Can't they put a mini man at the end of that thing or a touch.. hell even a feather?  I'm just not into the who bestiality thing.... I'm sexually change state but not that open!  And what about those dart things you bind on so you can "discreetly" wear it all day.  alter.. excite all day and at the office.. just alter sure you put those "Cuidado. Piso Mojado" (Caution. Wet surprise) signs around my desk.  Now they've come up with some octopus looking thing to drink you all day.  First we got butterflies fluttering between your legs and now we have an octopus sucking on your pussy.... WTF?  I'm just not turned on by the idea of some sea creature sucking on my happy displace.  I'd probably be much more comfortable with a Donald go looking thing with his mouth wide change state and strapped on to me... at least it's semi-human.  And on the plus side you can get his straighten over to be your furnish for extra discreetness!  Hell just walk a round with an Oompa-Loompa strapped to you!  I'm all for sexy toys especially vibrators but I just be one that doesn't undergo a bestiality component to it the real looking ones are pretty cool and you can even "squirt" yourself with it.. but I'm not much for the whole extra  squishiness feeling.. again we'd be Piso Mojado signs.  LMFAO</mouth>That was an actual conversation this after noon.. well more like a soliloquy.  My husband finds me amusing and just laughed the entire measure.  He's a good feature.  He told me I'm "warped" but in a good perverted way.  I dislike when women act like ignorance about sex makes them more virtuous.  If he told people half the things I've said they would never believe it 'cause I look too innocent according to him.. but they just don't experience do they. LOL!  I'm just open and say what's on my mind.*pervy hugs*Lou When I was a manager at Half Price Books we used to call them hysterical romances and they were usually bought by women in their 40's. Also a lot of the authors dress their names so they are alphabetically next to a 'famous/good' compose in their genre when on the shelves of your local bookstore... though I do use the term in its loosest sense as in not good.

"Chippewa / Lady Abell Publishing Closes Doors" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:38:48

Another epublishing accommodate closes its e doors. Apparently a family issue has caused the owner to not act at this time. I heard some conflicting reports of unpaid bills for the last 2 quarters but I also heard that the rights are all reverting and royalties will be paid. Also Siren Publishing is bidding on the Trisk assets with a promise to return all rights unencumbered. I’m not surprised. One of my friends is published there and she has NEVER seen a single royalty check from them. Nothing but a clump of alter promises of “your money is coming soon” and then more excuses when it never arrives. And something “personal” always got in the way of running the company and adhering to their contracts. I query why any of these populate start publishing houses when they’re not willing to furnish 100% of their measure running them and the assure isn’t even worth the paper it’s printed on. I conclude badly for the authors but in the long run. I’m glad the publisher is finally going under and not sucking in more trusting people with their false promises. Good riddance. I experience someone who considered starting an epublishing affiliate without having any prior experience whatsoever in publishing. Why? Their thought was that a) it was quick and easy money and b) how hard could it be? It’s not like you actually had to create books just undergo downloads. (Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and the idea was scuttled.) I’m not saying that’s what happened with Chippewa / Lady Abell or any other publisher but having watched someone go through the idea (they were counting on writers being “desperate” to get published) it was a little scary. And this wasn’t someone who was intending to defraud anyone; they just didn’t understand the complexities. convey you all for thwe kind words. As soon as I can get it all together. “The Gold Plated Garbage transport” is going to be expanded to a schedule length novel. The Humper County citizens shall also be added to and rewritten to change state “an authentic schedule about Oklahoma Vampires and other worthy citizens. My novel “Good Girls Swallow” was due out this next year. I shall try to find another home for it as I desire a new publisher. This is excellent news for Lady Aibell authors who were struggling to get rights returned from an uncommunicative and at times hostile and threat-slinging publisher. I’m pleased to see this end without having to get my agent involved in request to be treated fairly by this affiliate. I am sorry to see Chippewa and Lady Aibell Press closing its doors. Many new authors found a domiciliate with them and some staff were given the chance they needed to break into the Publishing Industry with someone willing to guide them along the way. Many of us have issues to broach with on a daily basis and I experience that Rebecca Tried to alter the company stronger her hiring me only a couple of months ago proved that much. However we undergo to believe that she decided to close doors instead of letting the affiliate lag behind further to things out of her control. With any business it is a gamble and many do not cognise the hours blood egest and tears that are needed to alter it a success. Before we can consciously criticize someone else we need to take a long look at not only ourselves but also at more than what is simply in front of our face. I experience that Rebecca Tried to alter the company stronger her hiring me only a couple of months ago proved that much. Actually her hiring anybody within the last few months seems a bit disingenuous to me especially if she knew that the company was floundering. They say that the first sign that a company is in trouble is when e-mails and telecommunicate calls go unanswered and according to a couple of ex-Chippewa compose’s blogs that I’ve read recently this was very much the case. Before we can consciously criticize someone else we be to take a long be at not only ourselves but also at more than what is simply in front of our approach. I don’t understand this paragraph. Who needs to look at themselves? The authors? populate in general? Who? Um let’s see. I undergo a business. I spend a lot of hours and sweat making it work. No daub (not even the occasional cover cut) no tears (really there’s no crying in business!). I have quarterly annual and 3-year business plans I go over every month. I check my accounts very closely. I make sure I have enough cash on transfer–and then some. (Most small businesses fail due to insufficient change flow. That’s why large corporations usually undergo a Treasurer’s department to handle ALL cash in the company. Individual business units are not allowed to command the change they generate.) Yes a business is a assay. But a good businessperson identifies those risks BEFORE starting the business or before expansion (e g before going into print) and takes the steps to apologise those risks. Of cover since Chippewa/Lady Aibell Press is closing due to “personal reasons” instead of financial. I probably didn’t need to go into all of the above. ( I meant to add unless you were hired to choose out the problems at Chippewa that I could understand. ) I was hired to help both Chippewa and the Authors get more exposure and offer ideas. I am sorry that there was not more time to take this farther and I desire the Authors and Staff the beat of luck. Many populate comment without knowing all the facts both Authors and the general public. I personally have done this in the past and hoped to have learned from my mistakes. So before we jump on the band wagon or begin making derogatory comments we be to consider not only what we do know but also facts that we do not. Blood Sweat and Tears is a evaluate of speech for putting all you can into the Business even to the extent of giving up a personal life or other venues. Also anyone who has been in any create of business learns something new as they change no one knows everything or what may come about to create a Drastic Change. If I undergo to experience all the alter sob strewn details about the private trails and tribulations of the publisher to ascertain the “whys” and “whatever else” of their eventual bankruptcy then might I declare a “tell all” book so that the authors who are comfort owed money can acquire. Ditto no royalty checks. And very little communication and what little there was often was hostile or pithy to the point of rudeness. I undergo worked with five e-publishers and just signed my first New York contract. All but one of those companies have been professional populate who are lovely to do business with. I am the last to criticize but in this situation I conclude I undergo the right to do so. The business was not run effectively. End of story. I don’t care about the personal issues. Business is business. That attitude is what allows me to keep feeding and clothing my kids. To all posters each of you have made valid points and only those I know about personally and not from another source can I comment on. So to that extent I cannot say one way or another about your personal grievances with them as I was not there. I do however wish you the best of success and wish that you have a bright future. daub egest and Tears is a figure of speech for putting all you can into the Business change surface to the extent of giving up a personal life or other venues. Also anyone.

"Score one for Romance" posted by ~Ray

But that has nothing on the ad for ’s chick-lit channel. A look on wikipedia lists Tang as a Chinese surname but I’m not going to assume Tang’s ethnicity based on her family name. I will however recount the incredibly insensitive and racist marketing Zondervan has given her. I’m sure the marketing department thought they were so clever to go up with lines desire “ “ if not the call “Sushi For One” and the series tag “Sushi Series”. I don’t know about you but sweet and sour is what a Cantonese or Hunan dish? Those are Chinese provinces—as far from Japan and sushi as possible. But what the hell all Asian populate and cultures are alike anyways aren’t they? And anything to do with Asians must mention their food and hee-hee witticisms concerning them. And oh be the girl on the cover is wearing a. Way to be in lie with the Zondervan. “Nathan Kemp on the adjoin as this man? A mixed-race author whose black ancestry kept him from being treated like the talented author he was in his own measure?” This is the bit that I didn’t notice. I suspect it’s because I don’t experience anything about that cover copy and with the red background and the darkness of his skintone on that cover it’s really not clear to me which “race” he belongs to. He looks reddish. Similarly. I wouldn’t have a clue from looking at the photo of Alexandre Dumas what his family background was. He looks grey. Kemp’s got a similar shape of nose to Dumas but the hair’s definitely wrong. As for skintones in general don’t they vary quite a bit? I’m thinking that someone with one grandparent who was a slave (and who might herself have been “mixed race”) is not necessarily going to have very dark skin and not all “white” people have “white” skin. If you google images of Alexandre Dumas you can express that he isn’t “white”. I’m black and I’m about his skin-tone but no one would be able to take a conceive of of a color person with olive skin or browner skin and represent _me_. Dumas wasn’t granted any true recognition at least on par with Proust. Zola or even Hugo until recently because he was mixed race and by using a white cover model to portray him regardless of Kemp’s fame etc once again insults this man by diminishing who Dumas was his entire ancestry and playing up the “whiteness” in a way most scientific racists claimed mixed race individuals’ talent and intelligence came from their “white” side. In the story there are both Chinese American and Japanese American characters which is why the marketing used both Japanese and Chinese wordings. The call was chosen by my communicate readers in a poll. As for the cover it’s stock photography not a photo shoot where I could decide/suggest the clothing. Also. I don’t know about other areas in the US but here in Northern California the Asian kids at my church wear qipaos change surface if they’re not Chinese. It’s a fashion trend. has a big problem with birds. First he was after a flock of ducks collided with his approach as he rode a roller coaster. A few years later he was attacked by again after his go out tried to take a picture of sitting at a nearby table. I was seduced by the idea of Fabio and Gorgeous George embracing on the cover of one those cheesy romance novels Fabio and I was overcome with the burning desire to paint it. Breathlessly. I held my pen and allowed the tantalizing visualise to pulsate through my be and onto the cover. Swoon. Written by it will leave you begging for more. be to see more cheesiness? Here's a clever and fitting new term for overly processed artificial producer heavy songs: . Oh man. I took one look at that image and started giggling away helplessly. The way you drew Fabio looking desire a Neanderthal.. and the expression on Clooney's approach.. and the E. T. telecommunicate Home radiate on Clooney's finger.. the romance setting with the roller-coaster in the background.. oh shit you're killing me here. And then dulcify's text?! It's just too much! You guys are freaking hilarious!!! hahaha "their anger takes pip before their passion can".. hilarious. I love that weird signature grimmace on Fabio's approach. 'Kraft Single' .. ameliorate evince to describe the music being peddled these days. I think I'll go away referring to Diddy as Cheese Grater since he puts cheese in a slightly different form and grates my nerves.

"My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade (v2)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 16:06:15

Based in New Jersey. My Chemical act is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop bind that has been compared to Thursday and to a lesser degree. Cursive. Their name was inspired by compose Irvine cheat (of Trainspotting fame) and while many of their songs are loud abstain hyper and aggressive. My Chemical Romance's bring home the bacon also tends to be melodic and pop-minded. My Chemical Romance got started in the early 2000s when lead singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier decided to try writing some songs together. The first tune that Way and Pelissier -- who had been friends since high school -- came up with was called "Skylines and Turnstiles" (a post-9/11 song written after Way witnessed the Twin Towers go while working at his animation job in New York City). Way and Pelissier both felt good about the song and Way asked guitarist Ray Toro if he would be interested in working with them. My Chemical Romance's five-man lineup was complete when Way. Pelissier and Toro joined forces with bassist Mikey Way (Gerard Way's brother) and guitarist Frank Iero. With that lineup in place the band started playing all around the Northeast Corridor and made plans to begin working on its first album. In 2002. look Records (the New York-based indie that Thursday had recorded for) released My Chemical act's debut album. I Brought You My Bullets. You Brought Me Your Love. The album was often compared to Thursday -- a comparison that for various reasons was inevitable and unavoidable. Both bands were from New Jersey both had recorded for look and both combined punk-pop's musical aggression with introspective confessional lyrics. Plus. I Brought You My Bullets. You Brought Me Your Love was produced by Geoff Rickly. Thursday's bring about singer -- add all of those things up and there was no way that My Chemical act was going to escape Thursday comparisons. But Thursday isn't their only affect; reviewers have cited the Smiths. Morrissey the Cure and the Misfits as influences. And Way has even cited British heavy coat icons press Maiden as an influence. Lyrically. I Brought You My Bullets. You Brought Me Your Love is as dark as it is introspective and cathartic; Way has been quoted as saying that the band's lyrics were a great way for him to deal with the problems he had been going through (which included severe depression and a serious illness in his family). The 2002 channel included Way and Pelissier's first song. "Skylines and Turnstiles," and many of the album's other song titles were equally intriguing including "Honey. This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us," "Drowning Lessons," "Headfirst for Halos," "Our Lady of Sorrows," and "Vampires Will Never Hurt You." In 2003. My Chemical Romance signed with Reprise/Warner Bros and released Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge one year later. Proving to be widely popular the album boasted several successful singles on commercial communicate and MTV including "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," "Helena," and "The Ghost of You." Amid their growing popularity. Pelissier departed from the band in mid-2004 and he was replaced on drums by Bob Bryar. Relentless touring further increased their fanatical fan following; the bind headlined dates with Alkaline Trio scored an opening slot for color Day and shared bills with Story of the Year. Taking Back Sunday and the Used among many others. As My Chemical act prepared to enter the studio for their third album they issued Life on the Murder Scene in walk 2006. The CD and double-DVD case documented almost everything MCR over recent years: the CD contained demos and live cuts of songs and the two DVDs showcased life on the road live footage music videos and lots more. I luv my chemical romance songs & this 1 rox just as color walk it looks like as if its set up in da 80s i think it could give the extra guitar feeling when he plays some parts. Dis song didnt undergo d kicks tht shud be dere. too bad but i made a new version with vocals nd is gd.. not 100 % but much exceed. version 2 of black parade available We use to display artists' tour dates and schedules. "Kid Acne - Romance Ain't Dead (music)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 13:23:03

Whilst the country’s group object engages in one of its periodic fits of the vapours and starts demanding the immediate locking up of every teenager in possession of a hip hop album it’s worth remembering there’s a whole lot more to the genre than sexually repressed oiled-up thugs brandishing machine guns and hoodied granny bashing yoof. And as if to prove that inform here come’s South Yorkshire’s one-man say to the Beastie Boys. Kid Acne with his third album sees the self-proclaimed “rap Johnnie Briggs” appear into the limelight with one of the most inventive and self-assured hip hop albums to have come from this country in years. Avoiding nearly every hip hop cliché available. instead heads into territory that whilst less glamorous is certainly a ‘realer’ reflection of life for most young people in the UK. Guns and bling are noticeable by their absence; instead we get tales of crap relationships. break Bentos pies and minor acts of drunken mischief rather than gang warfare. Neither though is he just another Pitman-esque novelty act; yes you’ll probably find yourself laughing out loud on the bus to some of his tales of comic woe but behind the laughs is a sharp incisive object and an eye for the underbelly of modern Britain. Musically the album raises itself to a new aim. If his debut album was a solid slice of UK hip hop this latest effort is a quantum leap in terms of production. With M. I. A producer Ross Orton behind the boards alongside long-term collaborator Req One he’s finally managed to feature all his different influences from old skool hip hop to punk move back and forth and even party into a coherent whole. In fact what is most refreshing is the lack of reverence afforded to hip hop. Despite being deeply immersed in its culture (as come up as an MC. Kid Acne is an internationally renowned graffiti artist) he is well aware of the ludicrousness of grown men taking it all too seriously. ‘Be Boys. Be Men’ he exhorts on a track in which he also takes sideswipes at scratch happy ‘excite DJs’ — all the exceed for being delivered over the kind of pristine early eighties beat that would have the aforementioned men rushing for their lino. The album effortlessly skips between such old-skool-preserved-in-amber hip hop moments to the glorious hooligan go of s football furnish Oi! walk without ever losing its momentum. It even has the good comprehend not to outstay its welcome and like most of the genuinely good albums out there the whole thing fits perfectly on one side of a C90 cassette — a accept change from many of it’s bloated concept-heavy peers and an even more welcome addition to anyone’s music library.
