I bought this at Sam's unify this past summer. I thi9nk Dick's might also carry it. Here is a link. It is a seasonal item for Sam's so it is no longer available at Sam's. We have carried it on several trips this year and it backs come up for motorcycle travel.

I'll add to the recommendation of the Hilleberg tents. They are extremely well made. On the tag inside your dwell you will find the label of the person who built your tent - thats how seriously they act quality. I was introduced to these tents (had never heard of them previously) by a mountaineering friend. This guy knew his equipment - so when he said something was the dogs bollocks it wasnt to be taken lightly. Sure enough when I checked (a Nallo 2) out for myself. I was very impressed with the create by mental act & materials & the extremely light weight. The outer fly is so lighten its almost see-through - but in the hold on they had a sample of the material that ppl were free to try and tear. Try as I might. I couldnt disunite it. Merely distorted it. Im 6'8" - I bought the nallo2. I went with the nallo2 for the weight - I plan to use it for hiking. I would have probably chosen the nallo2GT or nallo3Gt if it was purely bike-camping. The 3-600g extra gives you a shedload more lay - a vestibule you can create from raw material or displace out repairs in change surface if its pissing down. If you examine the internet for reviews its hard to sight negative ones. The main issue ppl have is the be. They arent cheap. Then again they arent made in china desire almost all north american and european brands. Sadly change surface the do southern hemisphere brands like macpac undergo moved their manufacturing to china or vietnam. And it shows. I move say that I experience what these are desire in summer - havent used mine in warm weather yet. In really change defy. I would go for a mesh tent - aka Mozzie Dome. Basically a self-standing mosquito net with waterproof surprise and optional rain fly. I have used one of these in the tropical north of Australia and it was excellent. Only discriminate of these are that they (AFAIK still) use fiberglass poles which are much heavier than their aluminium counterparts. I plan to get Al replacement poles for mine at some inform.
I've been cruising the Internet and open the REI Arete ASL 2. It's light (under 6 pounds) 4-season rated and 90 inches desire. Do any of you own one of these and if so how would you evaluate it?
. What I really like about it is the two doors which means two big screen widows when the doors are ziped change state. I undergo used it in rain in Montana and condinsation is not an air. I also like being able too go out and stand up. I hate crawling out of a tent then standing up. Pm Treadless he used one of Biblers tents on a 15k mile move to Alaska and loved it.
The Ahwahanee 2 is still on my list of possible tents. Thank you to those who answered my previous questions about condensation and warm defy camping with it. I haven't been able to find anyone who carries this dwell in my area so haven't seen one for myself yet. Judging by the photos I've seen it looks to have steeply sloping walls. I'm wondering if it is a little cramped feeling inside and especially wondering if a 6'1" person would have problems with the length when lying drink.
+ 1 with Mojave GS. I should undergo added that I'm 6.2 265 and undergo plenty of dwell inside. While in DV recently on a windy night my son thanked me for making sure that we always had high quality camping gear. Everyone else tents were getting blown down on their heads and we had no problems. I also like the colors. I can's stand tents that rest out desire most of todays tent colors.
Check out Mountain Equipment coop. Its a large retailer in Canada that "helps people apply the benefits of self-propelled wilderness-oriented recreation". They've got a wide variety of gear including 3 and 4 toughen tents as well as bivy bags and hammocks. They do mouth internationally. Definately my one forbid shopping for all outdoors related stuff (less hunting and fishing). All tents have customer reviews.
Based on all the positive comments on the Bibler Ahwanee I ordered it and received it today. Set it up in the living room and the positives are:Big doors on both sides. RoomyNice interior height The negatives:It was a hurt in the butt to set up. It is not "free standing" and would be to be staked or the sides would be too baggy. The "twist locks" for holding the poles were kinda hokeyIt REALLY stunk! Must be the kind of material it is made of and maybe it ordain eventually air out but.. it REALLY stunk!Even with almost $100 off it was still $552.45 plus the footprint. It might be a great tent for some but I'm gonna displace it approve tomorrow and keep looking. Thumper have you pulled the initiate yet? If so what did you end up with?
I used to work at an outdoor retailer in St. Louis... Mountain Hardwear is the beat stuff out there... analyse out the single protect so its light but the poles are on the outside so you don't undergo to compete Houdini to set it up. I've seen one of these in real life and it didn't stink. The Biblers are awsome but there is some sort of coating on them that smells bad but it fades after a while. Anyway this thing is expensive but totally assail proof. Any Mountain Hardwear dealer in your area should be able to get you one to analyse out and set up in the store.. they may complain a little but they'll do it. Or just order the one from Amazon and go it if it doesn't smell right.
Don't stone me but Wally World has a dwell of your dimensions for desire $23. Free standing dome for 2 average populate. Get 2 one for you and your sweety and one for your accommodate,raingear leathers etc. Comes with fly,groundspikes and Chinese instructions.
Mine only stinks if I eat burritos smothered in chili before I get in it. Are you crossing the poles from front to straighten with the spanner above the doors under or over the poles?
Sounds like you've already discounted this dwell but I picked up an SD Omega this year. Haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces but for the most part it is everything I'm after. My original choice was the MSR Velo but it was out of have. I went with the SD based on vestebule coat and the zip-out ceiling panels. I'm hoping it ordain be a good hot summer tent as well a cold go/pass dwell. I undergo another tent for backpacking so charge wasn't a huge issue. As far as impel length. I just slide 'em in the stuff sack with my sleeping pad which is strapped on the rear rack. I express you those Hilleberg tents excite lustful thoughts in me. (now isn't that funny- two Freudian typos slutful and 'thought sin'
) Anyway- I comfort have my eye on the Velo due to vestibule size but I really like some of the Hilleberg options. I've never had any experience with cut into tents (those seem to be the only models with sit-up vestibules). Anyone be to chime in on tunnels vs remove standing? Besides the obvious. I mean. undergo you ever encountered a situation where you couldn't stake out the tent? Camping on granite slabs in the mountains or something? Thats my main concern- being in an area where I couldn't get a stake in to guy things out properly. Greg

I learned the hard way that Mountain Hardwear doesn't rest behind their products. I had sent my Airjet 3 in for repair and they never touched it. This pass I went on my Alaska trip when it totally fell apart
I got a Nemo Hypno EX as a replacement and was pleased until all the poles started leaking
I shipped it back for a refund. I did trash the Airjet as I wasn't going to spend another penny trying to get that replaced. I undergo a Walrus Starstreme XV and although it is very strong it lacks ventilation. Things I learned; A vestibule is a must the bigger the exceed. Ventilation is a must too as I dislike waking up in a puddle of water. Freestanding is recommended as you can move the tent without breaking it drink first. So I am looking at Exped. Hilleberg and Bibler too....
Just got back from REI and bought a Half Dome 2 for $169. Set it up in the hold on and it was MUCH easier than climbing around inside the Bibler Ahwanee. Similar in size. The doors are not as big. It weighs about the same. It cost less than 1/3 of the Ahwanee.. and it doesn't STINK!
I loved my Bibler... UNTIL I found out they do NO in accommodate repairs. I need to undergo the floor replaced quoted over $500 by the company Bibler recommended. YES $500 to regenerate the floor. The company told me I'd be better off to regenerate the dwell. No inform.. thanks for the advice. NO MORE BIBLER FOR ME.

! I think that one really needs to look at the companies ameliorate policies prior to plunking down that kind of dough
. I think Hilleberg repairs their own tents but can take a while... Well the examine has ended and I have an Exped Andromeda on order. I compared the Hilleberg Nammatj 2GTand the Exped is larger offering the same vent options and costs le$$. Not really a freestanding design but I wanted a vestibule to act out bad weather in and be able to cook some food too. I'll see if I desire it as I have 30 days to go the tent...[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
